Leioa Waterpolo is a young club, with just a decade of history, but it has gradually grown up until becoming one of the references in Basque waterpolo. It currently has 4 absolute teams: two of them are feminine and the other two are masculine. The first women's squad, champion of Basque Country's League in 2006/07 and 2008/09 seasons and second classified in the last Spain's Championship of Second Division, is playing in First Division of Spain's League in this 2009/10 campaign; the second team is taking part in Basque Country's League. On the other hand, the first men's team is playing in First Division of Basque Country's League, and the second squad is taking part in the Second Division. Without forgetting the lower categories' teams, as the male cadets, who play in Basque Country's League, and the mixed infantile team taking part in Bizkaia's League, because our club also has a waterpolo school whose aim is to train future players.

Leioa Waterpolo carries out its trainings and plays its matches in Sakoneta swimming pool, in the center of Leioa. Its ancient and nice facilities are well-known by the vibrant atmosphere that prevails during the matches, thanks to the probably loudest and most committed supporters of Basque waterpolo.
